The ego of I know.
The world is filled with people who know everything there they are ready to teach you or as should say, brainwash you into their way of thinking. They know everything, have an opinion on everything and can distinguish every right from wrong. They are the torchbearers of the society, telling us what to do in every part situation, whether they have experienced it or not. They know everything and are always right.
Where do you find these people? Oh! You find them everywhere, they sit in class next to you, travel with you in the bus, you watch them on television debate shows, they might just be peeking through their peripheral vision into your screen judging what you read!
You can`t change their mind, hell! You can`t even put your own opinion in front of them. They constantly have on 2 emotions a) condemnation and b) ego. Don’t get me wrong, they are not bad people, they’re just ignorant. Also a little self-conscience about their image, in my observation they are quite nervous and too attached to their perceived identity. They believe they’re part of a community and opposing their belief is attacking their identity, its like hurting who they are and questioning their self- worth. The massive question mark to who they are. And honestly, no body likes that. Thus comes this censure and self- righteous attitude.
That being said, sometimes we too get attached or identified by our personalities, our beliefs, the rules we set for ourselves and the morals we agree on. As long as you are identified by these traits you are not only categorically distinguishable, but also predictable. Which I guess takes the fun out of it. If your friends cancel/mold plans because of you, if you’re the reason they can’t behave in a certain way, or eat a certain dish, if your actions depend on the situations you face, if your decisions are ready made and you know what kind of stuff offends you. You need to think about yourself.
Maturity is when you don’t get offended by others opinion. Reflect upon them and see yourself change.
Anyone can say anything. If you easily get offended, you will spend a lifetime being manipulated by the words of people who don't even care about you.
