I saw some of them cramming text books, some referred foreign authors, others were after teachers for...you know why!
But still I knew there is something they did differently that made the epiphany.
Days past and I forgot about it, everyone does...until the next exam, then again studying late night with my friends I thought "how the hell these scholars do it!!", I mean the time me and my friends are mugging up answers and teaching each other concepts we don't fully understand, bantering over stuff we could have done, and what we'll surely do after exams, I wondered how do they do it?!?
Meanwhile the scholars be completing their 8 hour sleep schedule for having the clear mind to cave through the exams!
Let's face it! Everyone has thought about it but never really cared, in turn we used that energy to belittle the brilliant and teasing them for studying so much and taking life seriously!
But the truth is the real scholars didn't study for much long! And they were the ones who enjoyed the most, you wanna know why? Because they cracked how the human body and mind works, every genius of the generation is so deeply self aware that he as Discovered how he flows and capitalized over its momentum.
They have gauged a balance between their energies as to what part of the day they are most creative, what motions get them there, they know how to pick themselves up when down, they work with their systems so their systems work for them, they have optimized the talents according to their daily life!
If you ask a high performer how they work some of the things you'll hear are:
1.I don't compromise on my health.
If you ask a high performer how they work some of the things you'll hear are:
1.I don't compromise on my health.
I.e proper nutrition and sleep, and by proper I mean timely. An efficient worker has a time table, he sleeps the same hours, so he's body adapts and it's easy for him to calculate the time.
2. I follow A structured routine.
All greatest follow a routine, an athlete, a soldier and even a student!
You cant ignore the importance of a structured routine, I can tell this because I was the epitome of entropy, a total mess. I lived on an idea of doing what you want when you want! It's a great approach but you can't get much done if you don't know what and how to do it, I used to sit on the tables for long while before I could even decide what to read/study!
Benefits of having a routine:
3. I have Seperate time assigned for chilling!
- 1. Better time management.
- 2. Easy to get in flow for studying or whatever work necessary.
- 3. Less decision making. If your day is already packed and divided in seperate blocks then you don't have to worry about much. Just follow the routine and get the work done.
3. I have Seperate time assigned for chilling!
The great people knew the value of relaxing and attacking, they knew the role of friends and personal relationships, of good entertainment and philosophy. Therefore they had seperate time just for that!
In any circumstances they wouldn't budge from that part of the day!
4. Do not disturb me when working!
Its true no good work comes out of chaos! Therefore it's no brainer that these brilliant minds seek solitude for their uncanny endeavors! Aka a peaceful place to work! Away from all distractions and only in proximity to the most positively influencing things for their mind.
One trick: study mostly in one place everyday, that should be ur study place, nothing else to be done there, its like a shrine you only go to worship, have something or do something that gets you in the mood, for e.g see if a jog around the compound refreshes you, do it everyday before you sit to study, maybe even a strong cup of coffee can do the trick. What you're doing here is training your brain to associate jogging or coffee with studying so that as soon as you do that the brain will automatically be ready for studying.
Over the time these principles put in practice will let you do your job so efficiently that it'll become effortless to you.
Now routines of different people would obviously be vastly different from each other and it all depends upon what you to do and what you want to achieve.
Experiment with yourself crack your own set of actions and rituals to your job!
E.g AR Rahaman a genius of music, only works on his piano for composing with a candle burning nearby. That sets his zone!
Now you don't have to be that absurd to do a good job, but give it a try!
- Understand how surroundings are and adapt accordingly, understand what your goals are and strive for them when you're most energetic understand what gives you the most happiness, what relaxes you and do it when stressed.
